How to Use SpectralSync
Welcome to the SpectralSync guide. This tool helps you transfer your Spotify playlists and liked songs between different accounts quickly and securely.
Step-by-Step Guide
Click on "Connect Your Account" and authorize SpectralSync with the Spotify account you want to backup data from. Accept the permissions when prompted.
After connecting, click the "Backup" button. This will download a JSON file to your device containing only the songs IDs from your playlists and liked songs (no metadata like song titles or artwork).
To restore to another account, click the "Refresh" button in the navigation bar and connect with your destination Spotify account.
Click on "Restore" and select the previously downloaded JSON file from your device.
Wait for the process to complete. You'll see a progress bar and receive a confirmation message when all your playlists have been successfully restored.
Important Privacy Information
SpectralSync only saves songs IDs in the backup file. We do not collect or store any metadata such as song titles, artist names, album artwork, or any other display content.
The backup file contains only the minimum information needed to recreate your playlists: the playlist names and Spotify's unique identifiers for each song.
Data Security
- All processing happens in your browser - your data never passes through our servers
- The backup file is stored only on your device
- We use Spotify's Authorization Code with PKCE Flow for maximum security
- Your Spotify credentials are never seen or stored by SpectralSync
- You can revoke SpectralSync's access to your Spotify account at any time through your Spotify account settings
